Back to Little Rock
Arkansas Coach Houston Nutt wasn't pleased with how the Arkansas-Tennessee game turned out on Saturday, and he addressed issues from the game on Sunday.
The Razorbacks traveled to Knoxville and fell to the Volunteers 34-13 in Arkansas' poorest showing of the season.
"It was a disappointing Saturday," Nutt said in an understatement. "I thought we had good preparation during the week and that was probably our worst offensive line play we've had all year. It just wasn't very physical."
Arkansas' starting left tackle Jose Valdez was injured late against South Carolina but tried to go on Saturday.
"We knew Jose Valdez was going to be hurt," Nutt said. "We probably should have taken him out a little bit earlier. We beat ourselves. We beat ourselves with way too many penalties, especially on the first drive. There's no excuse for that. We're going to get that corrected."
While Nutt was down after the loss that pushed Arkansas' record to 6-4, he knows his team can't drown in self pity long with a surprising Mississippi State team coming into Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Bulldogs beat Alabama on Saturday for the second consecutive year.
