Has Nortman decided to stay in-state?
Bradley Nortman, one of the top 2009 kicking prospects in the nation, originally committed to the University of Minnesota, but rumors have been swirling about the status of the three-star recruit.
BadgerBlitz.com recruiting analyst Paul Day was informed that Nortman has decommitted from Minnesota and has given his verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin.
Nortman currently plays for Brookfield Central, the same high school that produced former Badger Joe Thomas and current players Ben Strickland, Steve Johnson and Rob Korslin.
Rivlas.com has Nortman ranked as the fourth best prospect in the state of Wisconsin and the fifth best kicker in the nation. With the new information, the Badgers have now secured verbal commitments from six of the top seven players in the state (according to Rivals.com rankings), a list that includes defensive end Tyler Westphal, linemen Peter Konz and Kevin Zeitler, linebacker Mike Taylor and wide receiver T.J. Williams.
Publisher Jon McNamara is currently working on the story as it develops. Look for more information as the night continues.
