Arguably the top running back recruit on Clemson's wish list is Dontavius Jackson.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound blue-chipper out of Franklin (GA) Heard County recently unveiled where he plans to take his next visits, when he's going to take official visits and when he'll make his college choice.
"My upcoming visits will be back to Clemson and to Georgia, Florida and Alabama," Jackson told Tigerillustrated.com Tuesday evening. "Sometime this summer I'm going to narrow down my list to a top five and take official visits this fall. I'd like to make my decision in late October or November."
The standout also expanded, entailing what stands out on each program that has offered him.
Clemson - "They really need me if James Davis leaves (early for the NFL). They play two guys (at running back) regardless. C.J. Spiller will still be there and they'll need another guy to take his spot."
"Coach (Tommy) Bowden, (defensive line) coach (Chris) Rumph and (running backs) coach (Andre) Powell came down to my school last Friday. Coach Bowden is a great guy. He's a funny guy and real nice to talk with. Coach Rumph is a real great guy. Clemson is a powerhouse; they run the ball and produce some great backs. I have the same running style as James Davis."
South Carolina - "They have a good coach and a great offense."
Alabama - "They are on the rise. All of their coaches are great. I like their offense. I went down there and loved it. It was real nice."
Florida - "They are really good - a powerhouse. They provide a great education and just won a National Championship."
Georgia - "They have great academics and are really good. I love their coaches."
Georgia Tech - "You can get a great education there. Their football team is real good. It's located in the middle of Atlanta, right down downtown. It can't get hotter than that."
Kentucky - "They have a great running back there - Rafael Little. They are on the rise."
Maryland - "They have a great offense - its real good. It's not too far away and right next to Washington D.C. so the college life would be good."
Ole Miss - "They are on the rise and play in the SEC."
Jackson will base his decision on the following criteria.
"I want to go to a place with good academics, a great football program and great athletes," he added.
As a junior, the Peach State product ran for 2,462 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also had 73-tackles and three interceptions on defense.
