Hawkeyes land first in-state recruit
Iowa's first in-state recruit in the Class of 2008 is no surprise, as the head coach's son, James Ferentz, gave his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes after receiving a scholarship offer earlier this month. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Ferentz attends Iowa City High School, where he plays for head coach Dan Sabers.
As a junior, Ferentz played right tackle and defensive line for City High, who made the state playoffs and finished 8-3 on the season. Sabers, who has started Ferentz since his sophomore year, has no doubts as to where the linemen stands in his coaching history.
