Rather than rush into the highlight clips, the first "scene" of Devon Watkis' recruiting DVD is set in a place more closely associated with a 6-foot-8 "man child" - the basketball court.

"The first clip of his film that we sent out features him in his jeans and letterman's jacket. He palms the ball, jumps up, and does a tomahawk jam," said Longwood High School coach Adam Dewitt. "Then the recruiting process got crazy."

Within weeks, 30 colleges were calling about the not-so under-the-radar kid from Longwood.

Watkis gave Rutgers coach Greg Schiano a verbal commitment yesterday, making the kid they call "Double D" the second member of the 2008 recruiting class.
