Real Deal rundown
The 3rd Annual Real Deal on the Hill will be held this Friday through Sunday in Northwest Arkansas, and some of the finest young basketball talents in the nation will be on hand.
Bill Ingram, director and organizer of the event, is already in town working on what is the biggest basketball tournament of its nature. Ingram is excited and thinks this year's event could be his best to date.
"We have got 164 teams," Ingram said. "That is the largest number we have ever had. We turned away a record number of 237 teams. We've had a great past two years and this seems like it will be the best year yet."
The divisions are 12 & Under, 13 & Under, 15 & Under, 16 & Under, 17 & Under and a 15 & Under in the girl's division. The tournament is held in Fayetteville's Bud Walton Arena and surrounding UA, high school and junior high school gymnasiums.
"We will be using Bud Walton, UA HPER, (Springdale) Har-Ber, AllStar Sports Arena (Springdale), Fayetteville High School, Ramay Junior High (Fayetteville), Fayetteville Christian and Greenland," Ingram said. "The first games will begin Friday at 12 noon with the 12 & Under at AllStar Sports Arena and the young ladies will start playing at 1 p.m. here at Bud Walton Arena."
The 17 & Under division always gets the most interest because of potential Arkansas recruits. Those games will begin at 7:40 on Friday night and this year all those games in that division will be played in four locations......Bud Walton, Fayetteville High School, Greenland and the HPER.
