Irish top Illini for Hughes

IrishIllustrated.com Notre Dame just gained more ground in recruiting the talent-rich Chicago Public League.
Last year the Irish inked one of the Midwest's top prospects in Morgan Park quarterback Demetrius Jones. On Tuesday, Hubbard running back Robert Hughes made a verbal commitment to Notre Dame, making it back-to-back classes with Public League prospects for Charlie Weis.
"I called coach Weis as he was leaving on an airplane. I told him I was coming to Notre Dame and that I wanted to be part of a their winning tradition," Hughes said.
