The Nebraska Gatorade player of the year for the 2006 high school football season was Lincoln (Neb.) East quarterback Jim Ebke. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Ebke rushed for 1,549 yards and passed for 1,225 yards as he led his team to the state quarterfinals before losing to Millard South. His total offense of 2,774 yards was 20 short of the Class A state record.

He is now trying to determine which level of collegiate ball he will play.
