UCLA junior guard Arron Afflalo took general questions from the media on Tuesday and some of what was asked was about his play in crunch time when he shined like players of his magnitude do. With the Bruins struggling against an inspired Trojan basketball team it was Afflalo who hit the big three and then the deuce with 4.5 seconds on left on the game to clinch it. Who was the first assistant coach you met when you came to UCLA? Afflalo: "The first assistant that I met was probably coach Ernie Ziegler because he came with Coach Ben Howland so I would say coach Ziegler in the early moments of my recruiting who is now gone." How much do you think Josh Shipp is looking forward to playing his brother Jerren Shipp though he may try downplaying it a bit? Afflalo: "Honestly I don't think he is downplaying it too much. If you see your brother everyday you are not overly excited to play against him in basketball. Although it is on a much larger scale. "I'm sure he is mindful of the fact that he is playing his brother but once he steps on the court, we are two different teams." Have you ever played with Jerren (Shipp) in pick up games in the summer? Afflalo: "Yeah, sure their Fairfax team came up here and played with us in the mini jam so he's (Jerren Shipp) is very good."
