Three factors at work for Notre Dame
Pick your storyline.
There are three of them for Notre Dame in its Sugar Bowl meeting with LSU on Wednesday at the Louisiana Superdome.
First, there's Brady Quinn, a Heisman Trophy finalist who may be the first quarterback and player selected in April's NFL draft. Quinn has the skill to lead the Fighting Irish to an upset of the Tigers.
Second, there's the Notre Dame defense which has struggled when facing teams whose offenses pack great speed and numerous threats. Analysts feel the Fighting Irish have no chance to slow down the high-octane, JaMarcus Russell-led LSU attack.
