Notebook: Auburn wins with familiar script
The ugly win. It's a moniker that's become a big part of Auburn's success in 2006 and it was entirely appropriate that the final game of the season, on the first day of 2007, followed a familiar script.
In Monday's Cotton Bowl, No. 10 Auburn managed just 178 total yards and 12 first downs but eked out a 17-14 win over No. 22 Nebraska with the help of two big turnovers that set up short touchdown drives.
These types of wins have become old hat to AU head coach Tommy Tuberville who's Tigers beat BCS Championship contender Florida without scoring an offensive touchdown and managed just 182 yards in a 7-3 win over No. 4 LSU.
