Will hoops team run more?

With Jordan Farmar at the controls for the upcoming Bruin basketball season, it's safe to say that UCLA would've opened the year in everyone's preseason top three.

Farmar's intelligence and nerve on the basketball court enabled him to garner All-League honors a season ago and lead the Bruins to the NCAA title game. He's a terrific passer, leader and clutch shot maker whom UCLA will sorely miss this upcoming season, but for all the adulation anyone can give the 19 year old, it would be inaccurate to state that he excelled in an up-tempo style of game.

Farmar was a thinking man's lead guard; a wizard at breaking down defenses in the half court and running a college offense in a manner which would make coaches everywhere very proud.

Fact is however, Farmar wasn't proficient at getting out and repeatedly leading his Bruins to easy fast break opportunities due in large part to Jordan's average speed and quickness.
