The Trojans went with full pads in their afternoon scrimmage, giving the new safeties a change to mix it up with some contact.

The offense got things back on track with John David Booty and Mark Sanchez picking up some momentum against the stiff USC defense.

Special teams

Even though he was working in at safety, David Buehler also practiced some kickoffs and field goals.

Desmond Reed, Travon Patterson and Stafon Johnson handled punt returns. Greg Woidneck was punting well without a rush and all of the return men had troubles catching the kicks cleanly.
