Some show up ready; others just show up
As Mississippi State kicked off its preparation for its 2006 season in the blazing sun, one thing was apparent: Times are changing and brighter days are around the corner. Not everybody had that metality on Wednesday, however.
"We did some good things, we ran to the ball," Sylvester Croom commented. "Deljuan Robinson came back and picked up where he left off in the spring and dominated the guys he lined up against.
"Our attention on defense was pretty good. Jamar Chaney did some good things. Keith Fitzhugh did some good things as far as competing for the football. Other than that we were very average.
While several defenders had good showings, most eyes were on the offense to see if any progress had been made and to see how State's quarterback was dealing with a summer toe injury.
