Arkansas Fort Smith Junior College small forward Sonny Weems signed with Arkansas during the 2005-06 early signing period, but rumors began to
swirl recently that Weems may not have fully qualified to get into Arkansas.

If that were to happen, the rumors said Weems may follow his former
JUCO coach, Jeremy Cox, to Texas A&M where Cox has recently been
named an assistant coach under Billy Gillispie.

Weems, though, cleared up the rumors Tuesday.

"It wasn't that I was short on credits," Weems said. "It was a class that I
didn't know I needed - college algebra. I'm taking it now. I'm finishing it
up now."
