Tyrod Taylor is a Hokie
After years recruiting him, Virginia Tech got their man in Hampton, Va. quarterback Tyrod Taylor. The No. 18 recruit in the nation gave his verbal pledge tonight in front of a packed house of approximately 100 friends, family and fans. Taylor committed to the Hokies over offers from approximately 60 other programs including Georgia, Florida, Penn State and Tennessee.
"I have committed to the University of Virginia Tech," he said. "I went to the game against Miami last year and that atmosphere was great. I can't remember when I actually did it though."
Throughout the process it seemed like Virginia Tech was always the school for him, but he wasn't completely sure until just recently.
"I had been leaning towards Virginia Tech for a while," he said. "I went to the spring game and then to the senior camp a couple weeks ago and after those visits I knew they were the school for me once and for all."
