Brandon Cox returns as one of the SEC's best
Auburn entered the 2005 season with a lot of questions at quarterback. And there were even more questions after Brandon Cox threw four interceptions in an opening loss to Georgia Tech.
But the first-year starter bounced back in a big way to throw for 2,234 yards and 15 touchdowns as the leader of the SEC's top-ranked offense.
Perhaps Cox's biggest game came on Nov. 12 at Georgia. With the Tigers trailing 30-28 and facing a 4th-and-10 on their own 35-yard line with time running out, Cox completed a 62-yard pass to Devin Aromashodu to set up the winning field goal in a dramatic 31-30 victory.
The win, on national T.V., launched Auburn to a share of the SEC West title and put Cox on the map as one of the nation's best young quarterbacks.
