Gators hold the lead for Williams
Coaches from some of the biggest names in college football have made their way to Longwood (Fla.) Lyman over the last couple of weeks to check on defensive tackle Ian Williams. The 6-foot-1, 310-pound man-child has over twenty offers to date and expects several more before the end of spring ball.
"A few coaches have been down. Notre Dame and Texas were already at school," said Williams. "LSU, Nebraska and Florida were all down today (Wednesday). There's been a couple more."
Two months ago, the always humble Williams said that he felt honored to have received his first official offer when Urban Meyer and Charlie Strong extended a full scholarship offer to attend the University of Florida.
Since that time he has seen his stock explode.
