Spring Preview: Offense
Now that spring break is over, the Razorbacks will get back to practice starting on Tuesday. From here until the Red-White Scrimmage on April 20, the Hogs will practice every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Every practice is closed to the public except for the big scrimmage, but members of the Razorback media will have access to every Saturday practice, when the team is expected to hold smaller scrimmages. Members of the media will also have access to coaches and players at the end of the next 12 practices.
"What I love is to have a 25- to 35-play practice where we are doing an inside drill, a skelly period where we get in tempo and we are taking communication and get anywhere from a 40- to 60-play scrimmage where we are taking people to the ground and playing tackle football," Razorback head coach Bret Bielema said.
Clearly, sophomore Brandon Allen and senior Brandon Mitchell will head into these next three weeks as 1A and 1B, but Arkansas also wants to give a third quarterback some reps. There are only walk-on options, but those players come with some credentials.
"I think there is no doubt on offense the key is going to be who is going to be our trigger puller, and I think Brandon Allen and Brandon Mitchell both have shown that they've been ahead of the curve," Bielema said.
