Ball staying at UGA
Anthony Dasher
UGASports.com Georgia wide receivers coach Tony Ball is staying in Athens. On Thursday, Ball interviewed with SEC rival Tennessee for its vacant position as running backs coach, Bulldog athletic director Greg McGarity confirmed in a text to UGASports.com. A source also told UGASports that Ball was in fact offered the job, before deciding to remain with the Bulldogs, who begin spring practice Saturday morning. Last year, Ball received a pay bump to $210,000 and is expected to get another raise when new contracts for assistants are renewed on July 1. A native of Chattanooga, Ball has coached with Georgia since 2006. He served as the Bulldogs' running backs coach through 2006 before moving over to wide receivers in 2009. |
