Game Preview: UVa at VT
Virginia, having fallen flat on national television last Thursday night and playing this weekend without a chance of winning its way into the postseason, gets the reward of facing a team it hasn't beaten since 2003 when it travels to Blacksburg for the season finale.
In the eight games since UVa (4-7, 2-5 ACC) beat Virginia Tech (5-6, 3-4), the Hokies have outscored the Wahoos 260 to 79 with an average margin of victory of 22.6 points.
But that domination of the series and ownership of the Commonwealth Cup will get tested when Tech hosts UVa on Saturday (noon, ESPNU) in a game that fans on both sides seem both worried about and still cautiously optimistic about.
