After opening the season 5-0, West Virginia dropped its fifth consecutive game in gut wrenching fashion against No. 12/13 Oklahoma by a single point. And with two games remaining, it will be the challenge of the Mountaineers to display mental toughness in order to become bowl eligible.
West Virginia had opportunities against the Sooners, but were unable to close the deal as Oklahoma took a 50-49 lead on a fourth down pass with only 24-seconds left in the game. The Mountaineers would get the football back, but Geno Smith's Hail Mary attempt was unsuccessful falling harmlessly to the Mountaineer Field turf and leaving West Virginia on the short end once again.
