Looking back to Presbyterian, ahead to Georgia
Vanderbilt coach James Franklin was asked if a road win at Georgia this Saturday would be a "signature" win. Franklin instead spoke to the Commodores' 58-0 victory over Presbyterian last Saturday as one that fits the bill.
"Sometimes we forget where the program was when we got here and where we're going. Sometimes we get caught up week-to-week in the wins and tough losses. I'm thinking big picture. To me, every win for us is signature. Some wins are probably bigger to the fans and to the media, but internally, we're just trying to get a win always," he said Monday.
In terms of record-book significance, it was certainly up there. The 58-point margin of victory was Vandy's biggest since the 1999 team beat The Citadel by the same margin. Running back Zac Stacy's first carry of the game went for 86 yards, giving him the longest recorded rush in school history.
