Grantham gets a bump
Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham will receive a three-year extension and a raise to $825,000 per year, according to documents obtained via an open records request Friday.
Grantham's old deal paid him $750,000 per season.
The contract also includes an increased bonus structure that will pay Grantham $150,000 should the Bulldogs win the BCS title and $75,000 should Georgia capture the SEC Championship.
Grantham's buyout stipulations are also less than what they were in his original deal.
He can leave for a college head coaching job or NFL coordinator's job without the penalty of paying a buyout. However, if he were to make a lateral move in the college ranks, Grantham would have to pay 15 percent of his base salary in year one, 10 percent in year two and five percent in year three.
Grantham is expected to sign the contract soon.
