There are few players in the country more talented than Wharton (Tampa, Fla.) cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III. Ranked as the 10th overall recruit by Rivals.com, Hargreaves is getting attention from just about every school in the country. "Right now the schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Miami, Alabama, USC, and Florida," said Hargreaves. "Those are all of the schools that are contacting me a lot and recruiting me hard." With so many big time programs coming after the five star defensive back, one could imagine that the contact is almost endless. "A lot of them have came through my school, like every other day," said Hargreaves. "I talk to them on facebook and phone calls. I talk to coaches a lot." One school that has really turned up the heat on the Rivals100 prospect is the Georgia Bulldogs who haven't been talked about as a contender in the race for Hargreaves services. According to the Tampa native, however, Mark Richt's program is in the thick of things. "They are definitely in it for me," said Hargreaves. "I talked to them today. They came by the school, and I called them back around 6:30 (p.m.). They are recruiting me hard." One of the big reasons the Bulldogs appeal to Hargreaves has to do with his primary recruiter for UGA, running backs coach Bryan McClendon. "Coach McClendon is recruiting me for UGA, and he's just a laid back," he said. "He isn't the type of guy to sit down and come at me with a lot of stuff. I like him. He's laid back, and relaxed and that is how it is really." As with most blue chip recruits, Hargreaves is going to have an extremely busy summer, but one that is focused mainly on recruiting. "I'll be taking a lot of unofficial visits," he said. "I'll also be doing The Opening. I'll be working on stuff like that and getting better." With the Bulldogs' recent emergence in the five star prospect's recruitment, will Georgia be considered into Hargreaves summer plans? "Yes, definitely," he said. "I plan on making a trip for an unofficial visit." Hargreaves admits that his recruitment is in its early stages and he has no leaders, but he does feel like he has an idea of when he will be deciding. It won't be any time soon. "I'll probably decide around signing day," said Hargreaves. "Sometime around Signing Day."
