High risks, high rewards for Bulldogs
It was a high risk, high rewards type of day for the Mississippi State defense during Tuesday's practice.
The Bulldogs were working on their blitz packages which led to several long touchdown plays for the offense but also some big turnovers for the defense as well.
"Today was a big blitz day for us," said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. "We were putting in certain dime blitz packages so what you will see out of that at times are a lot of big plays. They gave up a lot of big plays today and made a lot of big plays today. When you are coming with heavy blitzes you're going to see a big play no matter what happens one way or the other."
Redshirt freshman safety Zachary Jackson shined in the secondary with two interceptions and a fumble recovery to pace the defense.
MSU is beginning their third week of practice with Tuesday marking their sixth spring session.
