Bulldog ready for Friday scrimmage
Throughout the first week of bowl practice Mississippi State has given its younger players an opportunity to get a bulk of the reps.
Tomorrow those young Bulldogs will have a chance to showcase their talents on the big stage in a scrimmage inside Davis Wade Stadium at 5 p.m.
Head coach Dan Mullen used one word to describe what that day is about.
"Fun," Mullen said. "Get the coaches off the field, get them out of the way and go in the stadium and play. A lot of them haven't had to play in the stadium before. It's open to the fans and anybody who wants to show up and watch them play. It's always good to have fans there because it puts more pressure on our players."
Mullen has been impressed with what the younger players have done thus far at practice this week.
"One good thing that you are seeing is some of the younger guys are executing at a much higher level," Mullen said. "That's a real positive for us going into the spring."
Mullen said that everyone will get reps during the Friday scrimmage but many of the starters would be limited. That will especially be apparent at quarterback as Chris Relf and Dak Prescott will be the only two available.
