While there's no shortage of depth at corner and safety, experience beyond the projected starters is minimal. Much like the linebacking crew, the secondary has the potential to be a shut-down unit. Time will tell and as fall camp gets underway, we'll get a much better idea of how far some of the young faces have progressed. CORNERBACKS
Jordan Poyer has become a bit of a do-everything player for OSU. Along with being the projected starter at corner heading into the 2011 season, Poyer was 2nd in the conference in kick return yards (27.8 ypa), is OSU's punt return man and is versatile enough to catch passes on offense if needed. Poyer should be a reliable force on the outside and will look to improve on his two interceptions from last season.
