Impact EERS: Offensive skill positions
This is WVSports.com's pre-camp look at some of the Mountaineer offensive skill players that have the opportunity to impact and help shape the 2011 season.
With the move to the new offensive system this spring, the door opened for a number of players to carve out their roles and make an impact. And with a stable of running backs competing to tote the rock, and a wide receiver rotation that could be up to eight-deep, this is a look at the players that could have the most impact on a successful 2011 offensive campaign.
10. Ivan McCartney: A heralded recruit from Miramar, Fla., McCartney has all the physical tools, as he sometimes displayed during the spring making highlight catches and beating defenders. The issue with McCartney, 6-foot-3, 178-pounds, is the mental aspects of the game and consistency on the field. If everything comes together, McCartney has the potential to make his mark at the wide receiver position.
