Big OL has BC in top five
Top offensive lineman prospect, J.J. Denman, has pulled in over 20 offers from around the country so far, but Boston College is still a place he says he could envision playing.
"My top five are Michigan, Notre Dame, Boston College, Penn State and Wisconsin," Said Denman.
Why did Boston College crack the top five?
"I've been to Boston College a few times, I just feel comfortable there," said Denman. "I could see myself fitting in there."
For the Boston College coaching staff recruiting top offensive lineman to the 'O-Line U' has become a lot easier over the years as the Eagles continue to send offensive lineman to the NFL.
"Coach Day has been recruiting me at BC, he has said when they offer an offensive lineman, it's not something they take lightly, they choose them," said Denman. "They do a lot of evaluation on offensive lineman. They spend a lot of time looking at you and evaluating you."
The coaching staff has offered other offensive linemen from the class of 2012 to this point, but the 6-foot-6, 310-pound lineman from Fairless Hills (PA) Pennsbury, may be their most coveted.
What does Denman like about the other schools on his top five?
Michigan: "They are going back to their old style offense; they have a new coach so this should be a big recruiting class coming in."
Notre Dame: "It was like Boston College, I felt comfortable there."
Penn State: "A lot of from where I like them and I know a lot of people from my school there."
Wisconsin: "They do a good job of getting people to the next level if they come in and work hard."
How does the standout offensive tackle plan to separate the schools in the top five and come to a decision?
"It will be a combination of the coaching staff, how I fit in at the campus and school, and maybe if I had a guarantee spot to play early," said Denman.
Denman plans on taking another trip up to Boston College in the spring. Right now he is working on getting better on both sides of the ball he will also be playing defensive tackle and some end next year.
