Donovan not worried about Boynton
The message from Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan following the 0-point effort Sunday against American by shooting guard Kenny Boynton was clear.
Boynton didn't play poorly.
"Because he was 0-for-9, the feeling was he had a bad game," Donovan said. "He really didn't have a bad game. He actually played pretty well. He did not make shots. We had guys on our team that put the ball in the basket more against American that did not play well. But the perception is, they played very well because the ball went in the basket.
There are other things you can do to contribute and that's the thing I was happy about with Kenny. He did other things. He had assists. He played defense. He didn't have a great scoring night. He didn't have a great shooting night. But [the] other parts of the game I thought he played very well."
