Florida football coach Urban Meyer is known for being one of college football's best recruiters, but when it came to landing several stars from Lakeland (Fla.) High in 2007, he had some help.

"I first met him at a [Fellowship of Christian Athletes] banquet down in Tampa at an Outback Bowl deal, and we developed a great relationship via phone," Meyer said.

Rainey, a star running back at Lakeland, has always been a Gators fan, his fiends say. So when Florida offered him a scholarship, the decision to become a Gator apparently wasn't too difficult.
