Auburn safety Daren Bates capped off a big first season on the Plains by being named to the SEC All-Freshman team Thursday.

A true freshman, Bates started every game for the Tigers finishing fourth on the team with 63 tackles (40 solo) with 2.5 tackles-for-loss, 0.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one interception, four quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery.
